“I’ve always been concerned about homeless people. I think it (the SleepOut) is a chance to empathise with the position they’re in.”

— Sir simon Hughes, patron

Thank you for your interest in SleepOut 2023. Since 2010 Southwark Cathedral have organised and hosted an annual fundraising SleepOut for Robes. This is a major event generating the bulk of Robes income. By giving up their cosy bed and sleeping out in the open air, those taking part help alleviate local homelessness, show solidarity and make a difference to those rough sleeping in Southwark and Lambeth.

HOW To organise your sleepout experience:

  1. Register for Robes SleepOut by clicking here. (Please see section below if bringing children or young people aged 7 - 17 years)

  2. You can create your own fundraising page via our JustGiving campaign page here or download our sponsorship forms here.

  3. Invite family / friends / work colleagues - the more the merrier

  4. On the day of the SleepOut, Friday 24th November 2023 - sign in begins at 7pm at Southwark Cathedral. Sign in, then pick your spot to sleep in.

  5. The SleepOut ends at 7am on Saturday, and you will be given a hot cooked breakfast as a thank you

Don’t forget to tag us on your fundraising journey and your SleepOut journey. You will find us on Twitter and Facebook @RobesProject and @RobesSleepOut. #robesproject #robessleepout

What will happen on the Night?

We are looking forward to you joining us at Southwark Cathedral on Friday 24th November 2023. We have a great evening of entertainment planned before participants bed down for the night in the grounds of the Cathedral. The SleepOut Factsheet has full details.

Can I bring children or young people?

The minimum age limit for attending the SleepOut event is 7 years. The adult will have to register as normal, indicating on the form that a young person (aged 7 - 17) will also be participating in the SleepOut. Children aged 7 - 11 will be sleeping with their guardian inside the Cathedral. Young people aged 12 - 17 will sleep in the Cathedral grounds with their guardian. For safeguarding reasons, please fill in the Young People Booking and Consent Form and bring it with you on the day of the SleepOut.
